“Let me know when you are ready because we are “Let me know when you are ready

because we are about to make a blast.”

Alfian and Bintang are fusing their musical prowess as the Kretek Beats duo. This Friday the 17th, we are very happy to share dinner and host this exciting performance by two of the most talented musicians to have graced The Space.

Bintang Manira Manik is an Indonesian versatile musician. His unique choice of sound creates a portal between the past, present and future combining musical chants with acoustic traditional instruments and electronic sound. He is focusing on various hand percussion techniques and combines them with ancient vocal techniques from India and Tuva such as Dhrupad and different types of throat singing.

Indonesian cellist and composer Alfian Emir Adytia is recognized not just for his borderless performance, but also “guts in his playing” (Den Haag Centraal Net). He moves seamlessly across a plethora of genres and disciplines which bridged classical, avant-garde, improvisation, electronics, collaboration with dance, paintings and films. Emir, his middle and artist name, has appeared as a soloist and cellist in classical and contemporary music ensemble in Asia and Europe. An alumni of Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, he performs regularly on major stages for new music, classical, jazz and cello festivals.

Thanks to a lot of people offering a hand, we will be sharing a vegetarian dinner. Arrive early for the best bits and drop us a message if you are happy to help with the cooking!

The Space Playground is our Friday take-it-over meetup, always donation-based. You can get your free tickets for this event via the link in our bio.
